What is Full House MOMs & Dads?  Full House MOMs & Dads (FHM) is a support and social group for parents, expectant parents, & legal guardians of multiple birth children (twins, triplets and more). We are based in the Portland, OR metro area. FHM is run entirely by volunteers who are parents of multiples.

Who can join? Expectant parents, parents, and legal guardians of multiple birth children. FHM is a family organization and membership applies to the entire household. We welcome all types of parents. FHM enjoys a diverse membership of traditional families, single parent families, same-sex families, adopted multiples, multiples being raised by extended family members… Multiples come to us in many ways and we welcome them all!

Why should I join? Birthing and raising multiples involves many issues that are specific to multiple birth families. At Full House MOMs & Dads, we strive to provide information, support, friendship, and camaraderie to this unique group of very special families.

How do I join FHMs? We’d love to talk with you and answer any questions you might have before you join. Please contact our Membership Coordinator so we can talk with you more about FHM. You can join online by going to the Join FHM link where you can sign up and pay your membership online through PayPal. You can also download and mail in your membership form or bring it to a FHM monthly meeting.

What are the benefits of membership? Member families receive a monthly newsletter filled with helpful multiple-related information and information on upcoming outings and events. Members are invited to attend weekday and weekend outings, parties, monthly meetings, mom’s nights out, family camping trips, our famous resale event, and much more. Our website is in the process of being expanded to include a wealth of information, resources, and a new members-only bulletin board where you can ask questions, offer advice, and buy and sell items.

How much is membership in FHM? Membership is currently $25 annually.

What is expected of members? Since FHM is run solely by dedicated volunteers and parents of multiples – we need all the help we can get!  Our Volunteer Policy asks that each member family participate in at least one volunteer opportunity. The volunteer opportunities are available to fit any busy multiple family and include helping out at our Resale, planning an outing, assisting with a social event, making phone calls, greeting new/prospective members, writing a newsletter article, or participating on our FHM Board.  Many of these can be done from home or take only an hour or two.  Please let us know if you need any special accommodations.

How many families are in FHM? Currently, our membership is approximately 500+ families.

I live outside of Portland, but there aren’t any twins groups local to me. Can I still be a FHM member? Yes, we have many members who are not living in Portland. Some join or retain membership solely for the newsletter. Some join because they want to come to the Resale event or the family parties we have.

What activities does FHM have? We have weekday outings, weekend parties, mom’s nights out, playgroups, brunches, moms only beach retreats, family campouts, resale events, outreach program, borrowing closets for preemie clothes/nursing pillows, monthly meetings, new and expectant parents meetings. I’m pregnant with my multiples. Should I wait to join until after the babies are born? NO!! We strongly encourage families to join while pregnant. Expectant parents can benefit from our New & Expectant Parents Get Togethers and New and Expectant Brunches. Expectant parents can meet other expectant parents and benefit from asking questions and getting support from experienced twin families. Most of our families find that life gets unimaginably busy and chaotic after the babies arrive. The best time to establish relationships and gather knowledge is before the babies arrive. However, if your babies are already here, don’t fear – it is never too late to join FHM!!
